Partnering with city staff and local restaurants, a hot meal program was started with generous monetary contributions from local donors. Through the program, volunteers deliver hot meals to our seniors three days a week. Not only does this help meet the needs of our seniors, it also helps support our local restaurants which are struggling. Through the program, over 500 seniors in need have been served, and thousands of dollars have been put back into our local economy. Vacaville was one of the first California cities to start such a program, setting an example for the state and other local cities to follow as they later established similar meal programs. We are Vacaville Strong!
